Welcome to IPMS AMPSEast 2011!

Contest

If you are planning to enter your models in the IPMS AMPSEast contest this year, there are a few things you can do that will simplify registration and help improve your score:

  • Type up a description of exactly what corrections, additions, and modifications you made to your model.  There is an area on the registration form to attach this information.  This saves you time, and allows the judges to clearly see all the work you’ve done.

  • On that same typed sheet, include a list of references that you used (if any) in your research.

  • Bring photos of your work in progress or reference photos showing just how much work you did to your model.

Following these simple guidelines will enhance your visit to IPMS AMPS East and aid the judges in properly evaluating your work.

The AMPS open judging system has led the way in terms of fairness and credibility. Experience levels (Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced) are established to eliminate the “intimidation factor” so often associated with other shows. All models are judged using the AMPS modified open system, where contest entries are judged against a standard, not against other models. This allows for an unlimited number of gold, silver, and bronze medals to potentially be awarded in each category. Every model is judged by a team of four judges who give the model a score from one to ten, with the lowest of the four thrown out. For a complete description of the rules, visit www.amps-armor.org.
